Optimized Charging is not practical if you aren't on the same schedule all the time.

As to leaving the battery charging, create a Siri shortcut that turns off your phone charger once your phone gets to the battery charge level you want. That is what I do. I am surprised Dan didn't suggest that.

I’m fairly certain optimized battery charging does not work if you turn off significant locations.

Sometimes there are bugs in iOS
I’m pretty sure my battery is draining faster under 14.5.1…. I noticed that exposure notification and the AppStore are high in my percentage rankings. AppStore has spent 3m running in the background and consumed 27% battery…

I wonder how much extra battery life one would get on a modern iPhone 11/12 when turning everything off that was mentioned in the video? 3%? 5%? I am guessing the gains are small enough to not be worth gimping user experience.
Unfortunately, many people on here gimp their phone so that they can get extra battery life, even though they have access to charging. In mind, there isn't much point in spending $1k on a phone if you are going to turn around and turn most everything off.
