Watch: AirTag Unboxing Videos and First Impressions

Apple's new AirTag item tracker will be available to order starting this Friday, April 23 at 5 a.m. Pacific Time, and it will begin arriving to customers on Friday, April 30. Priced at $29 each or $99 for a four pack, users can attach AirTags to personal belongings like a wallet, keys, purse, or backpack and then keep track of the location of those items in Apple's built-in Find My app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

I was hoping there would be an AR overlay through the rear camera; the directional component is nice, but I think there is a missed opportunity here with using AR.

Do I really need an advanced piece of technology to remember where I left my backpack? Really?
No but if you travel and your airline loses your luggage, a tracker could come in handy when Delta gives you the run around.

Is it easy for a thief to find your bag with airtag and reset it for his/her personal use? So you loose both bag and airTag...oops
No, it is tied to original owner's AppleID, like an IOS device, and cannot be reset without the AppleID password nor can it be tracked by someone else other than its owner.

However, the thief can throw away the Airtag and walk away with the stolen goods no longer being tracked.
