Apple Seeds Release Candidate Version of tvOS 14.4 to Developers and Public Beta Testers

Apple today seeded the RC version of an upcoming tvOS 14.4 update to developers for testing purposes, with the beta coming a week after release of the second beta.

Designed for the fourth and fifth-generation Apple TV models, the tvOS 14.4 developer beta can be downloaded onto the ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌Apple TV‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌ via a profile that's installed using Xcode.

Apple's tvOS updates are often minor in scale, focusing on under-the-hood bug fixes and improvements rather than major outward-facing changes. There's no word yet on what's included in tvOS 14.4 update, and there was nothing new discovered in the first beta.

Though we don't often know what's new in tvOS during the beta testing process, we let MacRumors readers know when new updates are available so those who are developers can download it upon release.

The main tvOS 14 update released in September brought expanded Picture in Picture support, new HomeKit integration with ‌HomeKit‌ Secure video cameras, support for multiple Apple Arcade profiles, and more, with details available in our tvOS 14 roundup.

Nope. It's pretty glitchy, and slow. Apple REAALLLY needs to update the hardware.
I have the Apple TV 4, the HD one. Last couple of months the glitches have just become worse and worse.

I'll be upgrading to a new Apple TV 4K 2021 on day one after announcement, to accompany my new LG 65OLEDCX that will be arriving Tuesday. :)

That is annoying, yes.

There's also more glitches in the TV streaming apps than earlier. (Though that might be the different vendors, and not Apple's fault.)
The glitches are maddening, aren't they? It's metaphorically like the Apple TV needs lubrication. For me, the sound suddenly goes half speed and the pictures stutter. This even happens on the Home screen at times. No rhyme nor reason for when it happens.

Maybe they’ve fixed the screensaver resets to aerial bug, but I doubt it. It’s only been present for at least 18 months over two tvOS versions!
