"Fireball" explores the cultural and physical influence that meteors, comets, and deep impacts have had on Earth in regard to mythology, religion, and human imagination.

Following their Academy Award-nominated work on "Encounters at the End of the World" and Emmy-nominated "Into the Inferno," Herzog and Oppenheimer's new film "Fireball" takes viewers on an extraordinary journey to discover how shooting stars, meteorites and deep impacts have focused the human imagination on other realms and worlds, and on our past and our future.

The documentary is the third collaboration between Herzog and director and geoscientist Clive Oppenheimer, who have previously teamed up for "Encounters at the End of the World" in Antarctica and "Into the Inferno" exploring active volcanoes.

While the documentary will see a premiere on ‌Apple TV‌+, no specific date has been set. Apple has also picked up other documentaries that include "The Elephant Queen," "Boys State," and "Beastie Boys Story."

Another vaguely eyebrow raising but ultimately forgettable show on Apple TV+.

They need their breaking bad / lost / game of thrones / ‘the boys’ / lord of the rings tv show.

Something compelling.

‘Foundation’ might be it.

That’s great. Unrelated: when is “Long Way Up” scheduled for release by Apple?
It hasn't been announced yet, but I'm guessing it will be the September release (along with the two prior documentaries in that series). There have been a ton of articles in various motorcycle enthusiast magazines about the impending release, and I can only guess that Apple has been hinting to expect a release date soon. We don't know what Apple has for September release yet, but I think Long Way Up is a strong possibility.

I'm looking forward to this. More documentaries is good. And this sounds fascinating.

Now this is interesting, but Apple do need to hurry up and come up with a multi-faceted bundle so more people will be tempted to watch AppleTV+ content. At least people buying Apple devices can sub for free to watch content like this.

And yes, it's Werner Herzog. The man is a legend.
