icloud_icon After an appeals court lifted an 18-month injunction barring iCloud Mail push notifications in the country, Apple has confirmed in a support note that iOS users in Germany are now free to receive the push delivery again for iCloud, Yahoo!, AOL, QQ, and NetEase, reports FOSS Patents.

Push notifications for iCloud and MobileMe in Germany were originally suspended in February 2012 due to a successful patent lawsuit by Motorola Mobility, which was able to enforce the ruling by posting a 100 million euro bond. The ban was again upheld in April 2012 by an appeals court when Apple was ordered to continue refraining from offering push email in the country and instructed to pay unspecified damages to Motorola, but Apple was granted a stay of appeal later that month that opened the door for the return of push notifications in the region.

As the support document states, users in the region are free to to enable push notifications through the “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” submenu within Settings, tapping “Fetch New Data”, and toggling the Push slider from Off to On. If mail is not being pushed to an iOS device after following the above steps, a user can also delete the account in question and add it back through the same "Mail, Contacts and Calendars" submenu.
