Microsoft Buying Bungie?

Anonymous points us to this out-of-nowhere rumor at FatBabies.com that Microsoft is buying Bungie.:

From FatBabies: "They have been shopping for a while now, and we have word they've finally found someone to buy. Microsoft is buying/already bought Bungie (Myth, Myth II). This buyout would result in major changes for Bungie, such as the possible scenario where Halo will be an X-Box only title."

According to our reader: "This is more than a rumor - Microsoft has been visiting Bungie for a while, and they may be about to ink a deal! If Halo becomes X-Box only, as FatBabies remarks, we could see a revolt in the Mac community! However, I can't believe Microsoft would anger the PC/Mac industry that way - they probably just want exclusive rights to distribution and licensing on all platforms. With the resources of Microsoft behind them, Bungie could rocket up even further in quality and prestige in the gaming community, if that's possible."

Apparently, there have also been rumors that Microsoft may buy Midway.
