My 5 Apple network devices happily updated. Signal is strong and Airplay works flawless. Mesh, roaming network.

3 Apple 5th Gen Airport Extremes running in dual band (2.4/5GHz) 802.11n only. Connected via Cat 5e ethernet backbone to Verizon FiOS 75/35.

2 Latest Gen Apple Airport Expresses for Airplay and signal extension.

I vote counseling, because obviously radiation therapy isn't working.

Interesting... I haven't noticed this problem yet, and I have 7.6.3 since it came out. Maybe it only affected some users.

I just hope they fix the new AirPort Utility so it has all the advanced features of the old one somewhere. The new feature of selecting more than one AirPort to update them all at once would also be great.

Good point seems kind of ridiculous that you can't upgrade your computer's operating system because of your router.

Then again, G is about to become two amendments behind the standard, so maybe it's time to upgrade. Especially if your computer can support Mavericks...

I have a time capsule (previous gen N dual band) and a previous gen N airport express, the G is purely an airtunes device and it would be nice not to have to get rid of that just because apple can't be arsed to support it.

I wonder what apple's solution is for those of us who own an older G only airport express that can't be configured with airport utility 6.X?

Maybe you shouldn't blame Apple, but YOURSELF. It works for everyone else. I've never had a problem with my Airport Express.

I seem to have tried numerous fixes and the dropouts are consistent. And downgrading to 7.6.1 fixes the problem 100%

I would love for this to work, but can't impinge what is causing the dropouts.

I have an Airport Extreme delivering a dual band network.

I have an airport express (with firmware 7.6.4) that logs into either the 2.4 or 5ghz network (it drops music on either network).

I have a Macbook Pro that logs in to either the 2.4 or 5ghz network (music drops out no matter which network it connects to).

I run iTunes and select the airport express via airplay as the speaker.

Under 7.6.4 and 7.6.3 there are dropouts with the music. Under 7.6.1 there aren't.

I am completely open to ideas and options.

I have also tried setting the channel automatically and manually. Still get music dropouts.

I would love a solution.
