'iPad Mini' Pricing to Begin at Approximately $329
9to5Mac reports that pricing for the "iPad mini" is likely to begin at approximately $329 for the entry-level Wi-Fi model, with two higher-capacity models arriving at $429 and $529.
Three models of cellular-capable iPad minis will also be available and appear set to carry the same $130 premium over their corresponding Wi-Fi models as seen with the full-size iPad, putting these iPad mini models at $459/$559/$659.
Likely pricing matrix for iPad mini models
The iPad mini is just one of the products Apple is expected to introduce at next Tuesday's media event, with revised full-size iPads, a 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro, and updated iMac and Mac mini models all said to be coming next week.

I sure won't be buying one, honestly I'm not the type of person to use tablets often, so I would just settle for a Nexus 7..

Hmmm, I wonder if that'll be $329 for 8GB. Either way, that's a bit too high. I was planning on getting one, but not at that price. Could probably find an iPad (3rd gen) close to that price on Craigslist.

that settles it .. nexus 7 it is ... they are going to be making a 32gb model for the same price as 16gb .... sorry apple.

$329 better be 16GB minimum, seeing as Android alternatives are $199-299 for 7" or 8.9" 16GB models or the Kindle Fire HD 32GB is $249.

They should have taken the hit and priced it at $299, it's not a big difference but it would have made a huge difference in the mind of the customers

So, I'm looking at around $350 for a base model with taxes. I guess I won't be selling my iPad 3 then.
I figured it'd be in the $300 price range. :( I was hoping $299 min though.

Not that Apple has been concerned playing a race to the bottom, but I remember prices on the original iPad were supposed to be approaching $999 and Apple was like, "BLAM, $499!".
Either that will happen again, or this thing might have a retina screen. Otherwise, they are conceding low-end of the 7" market.
