Verizon Confirms iPhone Launch for Existing Customers at 3 AM ET on February 3rd

Verizon has sent out emails to existing customers and updated its iPhone information page to confirm that current Verizon customers will be able to order the iPhone 4 beginning at 3:00 AM Eastern time on February 3rd.
Existing Verizon Wireless customers will have an exclusive online purchase opportunity before iPhone 4 is available to everyone else. Order iPhone 4 from our reserved quantity on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 3 AM Eastern.
Earlier this week, we reported that Verizon had begun notifying corporate customers about the launch time, but the company's new announcement confirms the launch for all current Verizon customers.

I actually work that night, still debating switching to verizon now or waiting till the next iPhone is out. Well 5 days to figure it out.
As someone in the UK..I am amazed at the amount of news coverage this gets….a phone has moved to a new carrier, er…is this news? Its probably got more column inches than the mass protests in Egypt..a sense of perspective required people?

I am kinda used to it at this stage but it is still a little weird how many Verizon stories there are when the Ipad launch in India only makes it to page 2.

IMHO, this is not about perspective of importance. It's about relevance to the topic which I'm interested in at a given point in time. At this forum we discuss Apple-related topics. Not current events that are happening across the globe.
