Apple Sells Over 300,000 iPads on First Day
Apple announced this morning that they had sold over 300,000 iPads on the first day. The sales included deliveries of pre-ordered iPads as well as direct sales at Apple Retail Stores and shipments to channel partners. Apple also announced that over one million apps from Apple's App Store and 250,000 ebooks from the iBookstore were downloaded.
"It feels great to have the iPad launched into the world -- it's going to be a game changer," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "iPad users, on average, downloaded more than three apps and close to one book within hours of unpacking their new iPad."

Sounds about right!
The product will start to lift in sales because of word of mouth.
I wouldn't say that its magical device but it is unique and honestly very user friendly.

I DLd about half a dozen apps (yay Netflix) and DLd Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter ebook. A pretty good read so far... I'm really enjoying my iPad. Even wrote this post with it.:D

Can't double on second day without home delivery. Gut said in the 400K range. Let's see Easter. Had to be much slower. It's a family day.

This just shows you how much you can put your trust in these idiots. I seriously think they just randomly guess these figures. They never have any solid evidence to come up with these off the wall figures. Still, not bad first day sales. According to my figures, Apple should sell 1.3 million ipads by November 3rd.
