Apple Music Media Event - October 16th? [Updated]

Appleinsider notes that "reliable sources" are reporting that Apple will be hosting a Music media event next week on Thursday, October 16th at 10am PDT.

Media invitations reportedly read "The year's biggest music story is about to get even bigger". (scan of invite available at AppleInsider)

Update: CNet and MacCentral confirm the invitations which were sent to journalists. Apple's event is also listed under "Apple West Event" at the Moscone Center Event Calender.

A mid-October release for the iTunes for Windows has been rumored for some time now, with previous reports pointing to October 15th.

Meanwhile, a Wall Street Journal column also hinted at iTunes for Windows next week.

Page 2 offers some unconfirmed possibilities for next week's updates.
