YouTube TV Now Available Across Every U.S. Market, FuboTV Raises Entry Level Plan to $54.99/Month

YouTube TV this week completed its nationwide rollout and is now available in every television market in the United States, with Glendive, Montana marked as the final area gaining the service (via The Verge). The end of the rollout comes two months after YouTube TV expanded to cover 98 percent of U.S. markets. Now, YouTube TV will be even more of a competitor in the live TV streaming market, where rivals include Hulu with Live TV, DirecTV Now, PlayStation Vue, SlingTV, FuboTV, and more. Although YouTube TV is available in every market, not every area will have all four major local networks, which is an issue some users have with many over-the-top services. At the same time that YouTube TV completes its expansion, FuboTV this week announced its first price hike in over a year (via CordCutters). With this change, FuboTV's base backage, Fubo Standard, is now priced at $54.99/month. Previously, this entry-level package was priced at $39.99/month for the first month and then $44.99/month afterwards, so this is a $10/month price hike. Fubo Standard includes 82 channels, a 30 hour cloud DVR, and two-screen streaming. According to Fubo, the reason for the price increase is because of the addition of popular channels over the past year, like AMC, CNN, TBS, and others. The change takes effect today for new customers signing up for Fubo Standard (with a $10 discount for the first month), and also coincides with a reorganization to its plan tiers that emerged earlier in the week. Price hikes for live streaming TV services have been quite popular this year, most

FuboTV Rolls Out Apple TV App Integration

FuboTV this week has quietly rolled out support for the TV app on Apple TV, allowing subscribers to connect their FuboTV account with the TV app and keep track of all the shows and movies they watch within FuboTV. For those keeping track, this means that FuboTV is now the second live TV streaming service to integrate with Apple's TV app, following PlayStation Vue last October. Users can discover FuboTV content within the TV app now, and all shows and films will be marked with an "Available on: FuboTV" tag when they're available in the streaming service. Subscribers can add these movies to their Up Next queue in the TV app, and when they begin watching them in FuboTV, the TV app will keep track of their progress. When first opening a movie or TV show from the TV app into FuboTV, subscribers will see a splash screen asking for permission to connect FuboTV to Apple's app. Once connected, users will be able to keep track of their FuboTV content in the TV app across their Apple devices, including ‌Apple TV‌, iPhone, and iPad. As of writing, Apple has not yet added FuboTV into the list of supported apps on its website. There are nearly 90 apps supported in the TV app as of 2019, including a few live news apps, but PlayStation Vue and now FuboTV are the only over-the-top live TV streaming services available to connect to the TV app. Rival live TV streaming platforms that lack this feature include DirecTV Now, Hulu With Live TV, and YouTube

FuboTV vs. DirecTV Now: Solid Streaming TV Services With Some Drawbacks

Over the past few years, the number of streaming TV services has grown exponentially, to the point where it can get overwhelming to figure out which platform is the best for you. Major offerings include DirecTV Now, PlayStation Vue, Sling TV, Hulu With Live TV, and FuboTV. Starting out with a focus on soccer and streams from other live sports channels, FuboTV has since grown into a full-featured over the top streaming service with support for many major channels, a cloud DVR, family sharing, and more, starting at a competitive price of $39.99 per month (for the first month, $44.99/month afterwards). FuboTV (left) and DirecTV Now (right) on Apple TV 4K In order to compare some of these services, in this article we've looked at FuboTV and DirecTV Now specifically. Like most streaming TV services, FuboTV and DirecTV Now have many similarities, but a few key differences that could lead you to choosing one over the other. As a note, we're focusing mainly on the Apple TV app for each service, unless otherwise mentioned. User Interface FuboTV When the FuboTV Apple TV app is first opened, a menu screen with a horizontal list of live tv channels is displayed (seen below). The selected channel starts automatically playing at launch, but the UI hovers over the playing video (akin to Netflix's autoplay videos), and to go full screen you have to tap once on the channel. In terms of user interface as a whole, FuboTV excels with a clear and easy-to-grasp menu system, although tab organization is questionable and the app can feel bloated due to the amount of real
