Leaked Apple Documents Detail MacBook Neo Features Ahead of Launch

Accidentally leaked Apple documents that reveal the "Neo" name of the upcoming low-cost MacBook also reference some of the features that will be included.

Low Cost A18 Pro MacBook Feature Pink
The MacBook Neo will feature two USB-C ports, and it will also include a MagSafe port for charging purposes. Apple's latest Macs use a magnetic ‌MagSafe‌ cable, and in the case of the Neo, it will likely be color matched to the chassis. Rumors suggest the Neo will come in fun colors like pink, blue, and yellow.

Along with two USB-C ports and ‌MagSafe‌, the ‌MacBook Neo‌ will include Wi-Fi 7, which is the latest Wi-Fi specification. It does not appear to have Apple's N1 networking chip, instead adopting a MediaTek chip for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Other information like display size and chip couldn't be determined from the document, but rumors suggest the Neo will have a 12.9-inch display and an A-series chip like the A18 Pro or the A19 Pro.

We're expecting Apple to unveil the new low-cost MacBook on March 4 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

I just wonder who this is for with an iPad air being more powerful than this (supposedly).
Anybody who doesn't want to run iPadOS?

There must be quite the power struggle inside Apple these days. The same company will release this product, a cheap MacBook, that has absolutely everything a MacBook user needs except the extreme horsepower of the higher end chips (which the target user doesn't need anyway)....and they will also release an expensive iPad Pro with a supercharged chip that no one can do anything with.

I am wayyyyyyyy outside of the target demographic for something like this... However, it actually doesn't seem like it'll be that bad. Two USB-C ports plus MagSafe for charging is already better than what I would have expected. We'll see tomorrow.

MACBOOK AIR M1 REVISION !!!!!
In multi-core, it is around an M1 but in single core (what matters most to target audience), it is closer to an M4.

Neo? I dunno. Why not iBook?! It's the perfect name for this category of product.

I've always bought MacBook Pros simply because I work on a lot of PowerPoint presentations on the go and need to be able to drop in video and photos. However, they're uncomfortably heavy to carry and if this could handle my needs, I would probably ditch my M3 MacBook Pro for one of these smaller things.
Why did you need a MacBook Pro for those things in the first place? An M-series Air would have always handled them just fine. The Neo should as well.
