Apple Watch Ultra 3 Is Getting an Even Bigger Display

The upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3 will boast a slightly larger screen, based on imagery discovered in the latest iOS 26 beta.

Apple Watch Ultra Black Feature
MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris found Apple Watch assets with a 422 x 514 resolution that doesn't match any current models. The existing Ultra 2 runs at 410 x 502, suggesting the third-generation Ultra will squeeze more pixels into what appears to be the same case size.

The increased size likely comes from trimmed bezels rather than a physically bigger watch. Apple seems to be following a similar strategy it has used with iPhones, by keeping the device dimensions consistent while maximizing screen real estate within slimmer borders.

Beyond the display size tweak, rumors suggest Apple will use a wide-angle OLED panel for the Ultra 3 that will offer a higher refresh rate. Satellite messaging capabilities and 5G connectivity could also be on the menu, but blood pressure monitoring is an outlier – the feature is reportedly being developed by Apple, but it might not be ready in time for this particular model.

Last year, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 received a black titanium case option, but apart from that, the Ultra model has not seen any hardware upgrades since 2023. Apple is expected to unveil the ‌Apple Watch Ultra 3‌ in just over a month, alongside new iPhone 17 models and the Series 11 Apple Watch models.
