Apple Announces New Flagship Store Opening in Vancouver, Canada Next Week

Apple today announced that it will be opening an impressive new street-facing store in Vancouver, British Columbia on Friday, November 18.

The new Apple Pacific Centre store is positioned diagonally on the corner of West Georgia and Howe Streets and faces the Vancouver Art Gallery. To celebrate the grand opening of the store, the glass facade is wrapped in colorful artwork created by prominent Canadian designer Mo Bofill in collaboration with Musqueam weaver and artist Debra Sparrow.

The two-floor outdoor location will replace Apple's existing store inside the adjacent Pacific Centre shopping mall, which originally opened in 2008. Apple shared a photo of the new store today, providing a closer look at the temporary artwork, wood plank ceiling, green wall backdrop, and terraced plaza.

Throughout the store's grand opening weekend, visitors can participate in free Today at Apple sessions, including a live performance by Vancouver-based rapper and musician Boslen, a Q&A moderated by Apple Music radio host George Stromboloupoulos, a live performance by award-winning choreographer Chloé Arnold, and more.

Apple Pacific Centre will become Apple's third street-facing store in Canada, joining Apple Saint-Catherine and Apple DIX30 in the Montréal area.

I just wanted to share that this store demolished the iconic dome entrance ('https://vancouver.citynews.ca/wp-content/blogs.dir/sites/9/2016/03/30/pacific-centre-e1459365880531.jpg') to the Pacific Centre.
But it's nice that Vancouver is getting a bigger Apple store as the original store inside the mall was tiny ('https://fastly.4sqi.net/img/general/width960/2256551_GYVOwfXAIbrS-lC-nCe9ispH1gquyNZJ7VYNvdsQ20Q.jpg')!

Edit: Not mentioned in the article, but this is how the store is rendered to look when the wrapping is removed ('https://images.dailyhive.com/20190204151530/701-west-georgia-vancouver-pacific-centre-rotunda-2019-f.jpg')

Nice looking shop!
Would be interesting if the imagery 'wrap' was a permanent part of the store's design – it's so vibrant and interesting.
I like that wrap too. I'd love to see it stay for a little while at least.

Oh, really? That's great IMO, since I've always disliked that dome. This looks MUCH better (with wrap or without wrap).

The painting is hippy, trashy and ghetto.

Imagine a Rolls Royce with painting like this...
No need to imagine.

Anyhow, I think it's great. 🤩
