Yeah, it needs to be. Smaller screen, no magsafe, touchbar, 720p camera. It's sad that it's even called a Pro.
Better performance, better battery life, Touch Bar is subjectively good or bad, your iPhone is a better web camera than what the M2 Air has.

The touchbar is so subjectively good that Apple chose to drop it...
Apple hasn’t dropped it. They are still selling these with TouchbBars for people like me that love the feature. Just bought one maxed out and it arrived today. I’m thrilled I’ll be able to use the TouchbBar for another 7 years.

Seems like they're clearing out the inventory before this model gets dropped.

Performance-wise, it seems to come down whether you want a fan or fanless.

Just checking: Is this the MacBook Pro that the entire Mac fan community decided had no reason to exist when it was announced? That one?

Posted in the iPad thread earlier, but Costco has the base 14” MBP M1 on sale for $1599.99 and the base 16” for $2099.99.

Plus you get another 4% rebate with Executive membership and your Costco credit card. Not to mention 2-4 years standard warranty. (No BTO options though, always my biggest hang up).
