Apple Arcade is set to lose 15 games in the near future, according to a new section in the Arcade area of the App Store titled "Leaving Arcade Soon."

  • Atone: Heart of the Elder Tree
  • Over the Alps

This isn't the first time Apple has removed a title from Arcade, but it has not previously officially revealed which games are leaving and in such large numbers.

As noted by MacRumors sister site TouchArcade, Apple doesn't explain what happens to the games that are exiting the service, leaving players unsure about what will happen to their save data. Whether the games will transition to a premium or free release, or be delisted altogether, is also unclear.

‌Apple Arcade‌‌‌ is priced at $4.99 per month, and it includes more than 200 new and original gaming titles. All of the games are free to play with no additional in-app purchases or payments required. Up to six family members can share a single ‌‌‌Apple Arcade‌‌‌ subscription through Apple's Family Sharing features.

If Apple removes a game from the Apple Arcade, but no one subscribes to it, does it make a sound?

It turns out that if you want people to pay money for games, you need good quality games. When Apple is serious about AAA games, then Apple Arcade can take off.

This is a slap to those Apple Music users who claims Apple never deletes a title you enjoy, and a major reason why old model of “owning software package” still has its merit.

Granted, I never heard about those titles, but given this precedent, I’ll much less likely bother about Apple Arcade in the future.

Gosh, a lot of Apple Arcade hate here.

It's not AAA games for the most part, but there are quite a few games I liked. Fantasian, Outlanders, Oregon Trail, Bloons TD 6, Angry birds, mini moto, Oceanhorn, and No Way Home were all games I enjoyed a lot.

BTW, I'd love Apple buying licenses for _very old_ games and adding these in Arcade. I am thinking about Lode Runner, Dark Castel, Frogger (the original, not a 3D "enhanced" version of it), Beyond Castle Wolfenstein, Snake Byte. Big pixels, simple rules, lots of fun. (I understand that the current generations will not play these, but there are probably still enough old things like my-self to make it a category in Arcades).
