I was really holding out hope that Apple would move to the much improved Air 2 formfactor with laminated screen for this generation, but clearly that was just a bridge too far for them.
For the average consumer, M1 MBA on sale $849 (Amazon) plus base iPad for $299 are a great combo. Most people don’t need much more, and they can take advantage of seamlessly moving between devices within the Apple ecosystem at a reasonable price.
