AirTags Available for Purchase on Amazon, Best Buy and More

Shipping estimates for Apple's AirTags are already slipping in to May directly from Apple's site, but third-party retailers are also offering ‌AirTags‌ and it's possible orders could ship out close to the ‌AirTags‌ release date.

airtags
‌AirTags‌ can be preordered on Amazon, and while it mentions the ‌AirTags‌ release date of April 30, it does not seem to guarantee a delivery date. "Order now and we'll notify you by email when we have an estimated delivery date for this item," the site reads.

Best Buy also has AirTag preorders and the Best Buy listings do say that the ‌AirTags‌ will "ship by release day," which is not a release day delivery guarantee.

B&H Photo and Adorama are accepting preorders, but do not list release or shipping dates. On Target's website, ‌AirTags‌ are available to preorder but there's no release date listed.

In the UK, ‌AirTags‌ will be available from John Lewis and Currys PC World.

‌AirTags‌ purchased from third-party retailers are plain, and those hoping for an engraved AirTag will need to order directly from Apple. Unengraved ‌AirTags‌ from Apple ship out in May, while engraved ‌AirTags‌ won't deliver until late May or early June.

Tag (noun) :attached to someone or something for the purpose of identification or to give other information.

These aren’t tags, they can’t attach to anything, they’re discs. I’d buy one as soon as iFixit shows me where to drill a hole.
I’ve heard that you can drill right in the middle, the battery is of no concern.

What surprises me here is the amount of people who are so scatter brained they cannot remember where they put items they use every day. ?
Congratulations. You're perfect. You've never misplaced anything or had anything moved from where you thought you left it. May the rest of us just cower in the shadow of your magnificence.

Apple only offers free engraving to their own customers, not through third parties.

It's one of their many anticompetitive tactics.
So... Amazon buys and stocks 500,000 AirTags and somehow Apple needs to engrave them? Do you suggest we turn up at the store and have it done for free, regardless of where purchased?

Strange that people will buy a product that no one needs in a pandemic - just shows you the power of the Apple brand.
Strange that someone can't imagine anyone having a life different to their own. The majority of people have not been able to work from home and utterly isolate for 14 months. The majority of people have had to go to work to make the food, stock the shelves, tend to the sick, clean up the trash, keep the power, water and gas flowing, keep the data centers alive and keep you safe - so you could enjoy the extraordinary privilege of being able to sit at home and pretend everybody else is doing the same.
