Feral Interactive has announced it is bringing ROME: Total War – Alexander to iPhone next month. The title is a standalone expansion pack to the critically acclaimed ROME: Total War, which was faithfully ported to ‌iPhone‌ late last year.

As with the previous Creative Assembly conversion, the ‌iPhone‌ release of Alexander promises a full port of the original desktop game, supplemented by intuitive touch controls, enhanced Retina graphics, and mid-battle autosaves.

A century before the events of ROME: Total War, Alexander ascends the Macedonian throne and embarks upon an audacious campaign to conquer the all-powerful Persian Empire. Players will lead their armies to unify the Greek city states, and then march across Central Asia, routing all enemies along the way, before establishing their legend as Alexander the Great, the most remarkable general of classical civilisation.

ROME: Total War – Alexander for ‌iPhone‌ 5S and later models, including the iPod touch (6th Generation), will be available exclusively via the App Store for $4.99. The game can be played without ROME: Total War, which is available on the App Store now for $9.99.

Whats the point of Apple Arcade if all the GOOD games are separate buys
and what the point of Netflix when there are so many good films and shows out there?

No. What he's implying is that none of the good AAA games, made by the superb Mac game porting houses like Feral and Aspyr long recognized for their excellent porting skills by the Mac gaming community….. none of them have enlisted onto the Apple Arcade bandwagon.

Personally I hope they eventually do bring some of their games to Apple Arcade. But historially, Apple is too moronic to realize what good games are, and which game companies/publishers are the good ones. Which is why the Mac Gaming Community moronically lost Bungie to Microsoft in to 90s, and Steve Jobs was legendarily furious at that.

Bungie in the 90s was the premier AAA Mac gaming producer, and even the PC gamers were jealous of Bungie's successful and attractive Mac games when it was solely a Mac games producer. Bill Gates was genius and he understood that, so Microsoft acquired Bungie and converted it into a Microsoft/PC/Xbox powerhouse, leaving Apple gaming in the dustbin.

In terms of gaming, Apple was stupid back then, it was terrible at identifying great games and great game producers. Apple was unable to turn gaming into a successful and marketable feature (for their hardware). It was terrible back then. And I see no signs that it's any better now.
Let admit it, his point is moronic.

Not coming from established publishers doesn't mean they are not good.

That's because riding the Apple Arcade bandwagon requires that the games are also playable on iPhones, which still requires a lof of compromises and huge amounts of extra development time.

For instance, Rome TW needed massive changes to the user interface to be playable, Civ VI has significantly downgraded graphics compared to the desktop version.

Also, iOS games still have a size limitation (4 GB, if I recall correctly), while many current desktop games easily take up ten times as much and more.

Whats the point of Apple Arcade if all the GOOD games are separate buys
Arcade has only been out a couple days. Are you telling us that you've thoroughly played all the games Arcade has, to make the determination that none of them are good?
