At least two users have had their credit cards charged for their Dual 2.0GHz G5 orders with one claim from an Apple representative that they will start to ship "on Thursday or Friday", which would bring Apple's shipments in just under the (self-imposed) wire.
Apple originally declared that PowerMacs would ship in August, and reiterated this claim earlier this month.
There have been multiple sightings of PowerMac G5 1.6GHz and 1.8GHz machines across the country at Apple stores and CompUSAs. Supplies of these machines appear to be solidifying.
Update: MacsOnly notes that Apple's G5 Product Manager confirmed last night that Dual 2-GHz machines would ship by the end of August.
