Pictures: Speaker Enclosure Patent from Apple
Dogbert writes "Apple has been awarded a patent for the "ornamental design for a speaker enclosure". The patent application has been filed on October 28, 1999 and lists Jonathan Ive among the inventors. Click the "Images" button to view the design sketches." (you may need a plug-in)
The above is one of the sketches... An interesting design... and not a very familiar one. It looks like the iMac speakers... but it doesn't make much sense to patent the external design of internal speakers. :) Maybe a last minute design change for the iMac.
