Apple Asks Developers to Update Apps for Mavericks Ahead of October 22 Media Event

mavericks_round_iconApple has asked developers to submit apps that take advantage of new features in OS X Mavericks.
Make sure your app takes advantage of the great new features in OS X Mavericks when the world’s most advanced desktop operating system becomes available to millions of customers later this fall. Download OS X Mavericks GM seed and Xcode 5.0.1 GM seed, now available on the Mac Dev Center. Build your apps with these latest seeds, then test and submit them to the Mac App Store.
At the beginning of October, Apple began training its AppleCare staff on OS X Mavericks and the company has publicly stated the OS will be coming later "this fall".

The release of the new OS is expected to be announced during the media event on October 22.

Even if it's a Mavericks only feature, I'd like to see AirDrop between OSX and iOS.

Some think it's inevitable:

Shuttleworth is an idiot.
He is basically saying that since his software flopped, Apple should copy him.
The logic behind this escapes me.

Developers and Apple should be making sure their code gracefully falls back so that applications, and OSs can be used on older hardware and OSs. Legacy support is important.

I've heard that all before. But hey, it's too difficult to put Rosetta on Lion. Technologically impossible (although we made our MacBooks thinner and lighter!) ;)

Time to catch the wave.

(Hope Keychain syncing in iOS 7 is fully released, wouldn't mind full iCloud document syncing to - finally - fill the gap left by removing iDisk)

I'm still annoyed about it.

Samsung hasn't copied OS X...... yet.

Why would anyone copy 10% of the desktop market?

And last I checked, iOS has copied Android on things such as...fingerprint censors (They bought a company outright and took the idea from Motorolla who dropped it because it was deemed not worth it), notifications that work.

One can argue given how slow Apple was to adopt it that they stole copy and pasting from other OSes.

Just because Samsung plays dirty doesn't mean Apple hasn't ever stolen anything, ever. A grid lined up like that? I don't need to see the graph of all smartphones before iPhone. I've seen Palm OS phones. iPhone ripped them off in the same way Samsung ripped off the iPhone.

Again, I like my Apple products, but you anti-Samsung trolls need to calm down. If you hate Samsung, boycott Apple, as they use Samsung products in all their products to make them...work.
