Portal 2 Now Available for Mac

Valve Software launched their much anticipated first person action/puzzle game today. This represents a simultaneous Mac launch alongside Windows, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 releases. Portal 2 is available through Valve's Steam online store as well as through traditional retailers.
Portal 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Portal. Portal was a relatively short game featuring physics based puzzles in which the player manipulated two different teleporting portal entrance. Portal 2 picks up where the original left off and continues to challenge players with platforming and physics-based puzzles using the same portal gun. Forum user aznguyen316 has already installed it on his 2011 15" MacBook Pro with AMD 6750 and found that it runs very well on maxed out settings. This YouTube video shows the first 10 minutes of the game running on his MacBook Pro.
Early reviews of the game are overwhelmingly positive. Portal 2 is available on Steam for $49.99.

Great time for Steam to start pulling the 'cant run on a case sensitive file system'. So frustrating, can't wait to play this on my new Macbook Pro.

I'll have to wait for my old MBP from 2006 to die on me (hopefully after an iMac line refresh) to enjoy that game and others (L4D2) :(

I loved the first Portal and The Orange Box, but $50 for Portal 2 seems kind of steep to me.

That was exactly my concern! Portal 2 was a cheap, pack-in game that was finished in 3 hours. A fun 3 hours, but 3 hours. I'm currently 1 hour into Portal 2 and it's of a much higher quality. The puzzles and environments are more varied and there's a lot more story going in. I'd put the story structure and build-up on par with Half Life 1, not Portal 1.
It's a good game so far. Can't wait to crack on with co-op mode.
For those with old computers - it runs very well on my iMac x1600 (under Windows). I'm using ATI Tray Tools to overclock my GPU to 472mhz (core+mem) and I get between 40-60fps at 1280*720, everything set to medium with triple buffered v-sync. Looks nice. Loads fast.

Has anyone tested the game on a Macbook Pro 13' Mid 2010?
I want to buy the game, but I don't know if it will work fine.
