5th Generation iPod Firmware 1.3 Update

Apple has released a 1.3 firmware update for 5th Generation iPods which includes "bug fixes". Few other details are currently available, and the update should appear in iTunes when you sync your iPod.

The 5th generation iPod was released in late 2005. From Apple's guide:

The iPod (5th generation) is a a hard drive-based iPod featuring a large, widescreen color display, a Click Wheel, and the capability of displaying photos and videos. Like iPod nano, it uses USB for syncing and comes in white and black.

Just plugged in my iPod and I am downloading firmware 1.3. It says it only contains bug fixes.

ohh good find. These have had quiet a few updates recently, can't remember any of them being very specific though.

I really find it a very good job of Apple, still supporting the old iPods in such a far stage. Good!!:apple:

Did they just pull the update? it was downloading at worse than dialup speeds now its stopped with an error?

Nice! That's a big jump, from 1.2.3 to 1.3. I wonder what all it does?

I did have a thing where sometimes my iPod wouldn't shut off, and I'd find it dead in the morning. I'm not sure that's happened since 1.2.3 though. Can't remember. Used to happen quite a bit.

I still get some occasional bugs that require a reboot, although nothing too terrible, at least considering it's basically just a media player.

But seriously folks.. Have anyone seen any GUI changes in the update? Or does it feel more responsive?

Am I only one with Downloading problems? It says 36 minutes remaining (and with my internet it should be less than 20 sec) and i keep getting an error that the server couldn't be contacted partway in

Nice to see apple is still supporting the 5G Ipod. I cant see anything different from the previous firmware, but still nice to see.
