iPhone on Target for Late June
"Our expectations are good. Our testing has been good," said AT&T Chief Operating Officer Randall Stephenson. "The iPhone is on target to launch in June."
This is consistent with Apple's previous statements regarding the iPhone's progress. Apple announced that iPhone was on target on April 12th:
iPhone has already passed several of its required certification tests and is on schedule to ship in late June as planned
This is despite recent claims that the iPhone was running into issues.

(View all)thank god i was getting scared it would be delayed:) :apple:
They are probably under a contract to have it done by June, and that is why they took developers off of Leopard to work on it.
Bottom line, good news the iPhone release is on target, but what about the rest of us...and more importantly what about the Mac?
I guess you could say what about 'the computer for the rest of us'

1. "iPhone expected in June."
2. "iPhone may be riddled with problems, for all anyone knows! As a result, iPhone now expected in June."

... but Apple seem to have forgoten that they have other markets that contribute a lot to the financial performace of Apple as well -- and I am not just talking about the iPhone, I am talking about existing hardware and software....
Apple just released a ton of new software days ago, and 8-core pro Macs shortly before that. Other Macs are presumably coming--likely next month with Intel's Santa Rosa.
Meanwhile, OS X has been delayed 4 months, with progress and new builds continuing to be released nonetheless.
We don't know what Macs (or secret OS X features) may be coming along, but it sure doesn't sound like any "forgetting" to me. Rather, it sounds as though the iPhone is an OS X product (known fact) and thus used some of the same talent that could have kept Leopard moving more quickly.
A shame, but hardly any indication of Apple neglecting the Mac. That's a popular cry with little evidence, and has been for years. Some things are late, some are early (like the Intel transition--a HUGE Mac-centric project) and some are on time. Late makes headlines, but it doesn't mean the sky is falling.
As for finances, Apple seems to be doing quite well, and their long-term plans look even better. Mac sales are rising EVEN during the temporary spike of PC sales related to Vista's release: http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/07/04/18/apples_mac_sales_rock_steady_despite_vista.html
One thing is for sure--Apple's marketing department is worth every penny of its payroll.
