30 inch Apple Cinema Display Quietly Updated
arstechnica notes that Apple has boosted the specifications for the 30" Cinema Display.
Pricing for the 30" Apple Cinema Display has not changed - pricing remains USD$2499.
The Cinema Display's brightness, which was originally 270 cd/m2, has now been upgraded to 400 cd/2. The screen's contrast ratio has also been bumped up from 400:1 to 700:1.

the specs are the same on Apple V. Dell but theres a strange detail too

hmn. so you pay 200 extra bucks for the apple's case design and the annoying touch-sensitive buttons...and no on screen controls.
and of course no dell rebates. which can be considerable....
interesting. at least apple isn't charging more for a flat-out inferior display...that's good news.

The Dell 30" display was on sale for one day last week, it was $1499 Cdn (or roughly $1200 USD). If I only had a video card capable of driving it, I would have bought one.

Yup. Here in Norway the Apple-version is almost 28% more expensive than the Dell. And the Dell even looks good. :)

Only 300 duckets. I'll take an aluminum display over plastic anyday, but then again, I don't need all the inputs etc that come with the Dell. Well that, and it's ugly. :p
