An anonymous/unverified report claims that Apple has already been seeded sample 90nm PowerPC 970s this month. Reportedly, they run from 1.8GHz to 3.2GHz and heat production is significant improved, with a 2GHz at only 34W, down from 57W. The 3.2GHz chip reportedly at 71W.

Xes-inc is advertising a product called XCalibur1100 which claims to use Single or Dual 1.3GHz 750GX PowerPC processors at 1.3GHz.

Several readers noted that they received delay notices from Apple today for their PowerMac G5 2.0GHz systems. The new delayed date was cited to be October 14, 2003.

He said he was just at Apple for training on the new products (PowerBooks, G5, and Bluetooth peripherals). He was told that the rumors were false.
