OS X Arrives Early
Apple held a small press conference announcing Mac OS X and that there would be downloadable OS X versions of iTunes, iMovie 2, and a preview of Appleworks 6.1 come this Sat.
Many Mac users report being able to snag a copy of Mac OS X at their local Staples. You might have to ask for them to look for it "in the back"...

Mac OS X Boxes, more Speculation on GM
As various people have confirmed - OS X Retail does reflect build "4k78"
Theories that those pics of boxes/builds were from "preview" copies for retail shops seems to be countered by this pic of stacks of (the same) OS X boxes and these pictures of installation of OS X.

After a complicated course, Wincent has finally posted their "review" of Mac OS X Final.
Not much to speak of except they say that OS X Final is build 4k78. Good or bad, you'll hear varied opinions on this across the web. You'll have your own chance to play with it on the 24th.
