iOS 27.0.1 is Coming Soon

After releasing iOS 27 last week, Apple is already testing a follow-up iOS 27.0.1 update for iPhones, according to MacRumors logs.

iOS 27.0.1 will likely be a minor update with bug fixes and/or security patches.

Shortly after Apple launches new iPhone models, some software bugs are usually discovered as the devices get into the hands of millions of customers around the world. This year, some iPhone 18 Pro users are experiencing Face ID issues, so it is likely that iOS 27.0.1 will include some Face ID-related bug fixes or enhancements at a minimum.

watchOS 27.0.1 is already available for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. That update fixes an issue where those models may restart unexpectedly.

We do not know exactly when iOS 27.0.1 will be released to the public, but keep an eye out for the update over the next few days or weeks.

Why did my iphone 18 require an OS update before using it?

Because the phones were made before iOS 27 was fully finished. Fairly typical.

I need the keyboard to stop acting whacky - hangs, swipe typing doesn't always work, I've tried a few things and some restarts and it's just not the same as it was in (can't believe I'm saying this) iOS26

Seeing a lot of people on Reddit complaining their indexing is "stuck" and mine appears to be. When I upgraded to iOS 27 on my 17 Pro Max on the 14th, it did take maybe 2-3 days to finish. I transferred all my data to an 18 Pro Max on the 18th and it's still saying it's indexing 5 days later. Technically there's less data on the phone since some of my app caches didn't transfer over! Would like to see that addressed.

Mine didn't complete until I left it on the charger overnight after it was fully charged.
