Apple on September 9 announced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable dual-screen iPhone. Pre-orders for the device go live on Friday, October 16, and it will be available to buy in Apple Stores and other major retailers on Friday, October 30.

Here's a summary of the main features you can expect to come with the new device:
- Foldable design: The device has 7.6-inch inner and 5.4-inch outer displays, and it's Apple's thinnest ever iPhone when unfolded.
- Display technology: Both displays feature ProMotion, an Always On capability, and 3,000-nit outdoor brightness, while a nano-texture reduces inner-screen glare and crease visibility.
- Durability: The device has a titanium enclosure, Ceramic Shield 2 protection on the front screen and Ceramic Shield on the rear, and IP68 water and dust resistance.
- Touch ID: Fingerprint authentication has been integrated into the side button.
- Cameras: There are two rear 48MP Main and Ultra Wide cameras, featuring optical-quality 2x zoom and macro photography, and there's an under-display FaceTime camera built into the inner display. The outer display also houses a 12MP Center Stage front camera.
- Foldable camera features: New camera experiences include rear-camera selfies, outer-screen previews, automatic posing detection, and animations to attract children's attention (Kid Cue).
- Video: The device supports 4K120 Dolby Vision recording and Cinematic effects applied after capture at up to 60 fps.
- Multitasking: Split View supports viewing two apps or two windows of one app, and you can save app pairs.
- Apple Pencil: USB-C model support on both displays arrives later this year.
- A20 Pro: The new chip offers up to 20% faster CPU performance and up to 40% faster GPU performance compared to the A19 Pro in the iPhone 17 Pro models, while improved vapor-chamber cooling supports demanding workloads.
- Battery: Up to 31 hours of inner-display video playback or 44 hours using the outer display.
- Charging: iPhone Duo can charge up to 50 percent in around 20 minutes or wirelessly charge up to 50 percent in around 30 minutes with a MagSafe or Qi2 charger.
- Siri AI: iOS 27, which comes preloaded on the Duo, features personal context and onscreen awareness (in beta).
- Connectivity: Apple's new C2 modem with 5G mmWave support, and Apple's N1 chip with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support. The Duo is an eSIM-only design worldwide.
- Colors: Available in Star White and Night Sky.
