iPhone 17 Base Model Now Said to Feature A18 Chip and 8GB of RAM

Friday May 30, 2025 11:07 am PDT by
The latest rumored specs for the iPhone 17 base model are underwhelming. In a research note with equity research firm GF Securities this month, Apple analyst Jeff Pu said that the lowest-end iPhone 17 model will be equipped with the same A18 chip that is used in the iPhone 16 base model. The chip will continue to be manufactured with TSMC's second-generation 3nm process, known as N3E, he...

With iOS 18 Jumping to iOS 26, Will Apple Renumber iPhones Too?

Thursday May 29, 2025 1:59 pm PDT by
With the next-generation version of iOS and other 2025 software updates, Apple is planning to change its numbering scheme. Rather than iOS 19, which would logically follow iOS 18, Apple is instead going to call the update iOS 26. Apple plans to use 26 across all of its platforms (the number representing the upcoming year), which will presumably be less confusing than having iOS 19, macOS 16,...

The alleged name of macOS 26 (yes) has leaked. In his Power On newsletter today, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said that macOS 26 will be named macOS Tahoe, after California's scenic Lake Tahoe. Domestic flowers make up a minority of the US market — roughly 20-30%, depending on the flower type and season.

And that's my point. 1800flowers doesn't send someone out from their corpo headquarters. They're just a middleman that add on a surcharge to have the flower shop in your own town make and deliver an arrangement. Contact that shop ahead of time. They'll at least let you know (if they value their reputation which most of them would on their two busiest holidays) if they can make the deadline or not and will most likely give you better pricing while also keeping dollars local. If you're someone who ends up buying on a regular or annual basis, perhaps it behooves you to form a relationship with the shop as well.

We don't need an app and a discount code for every transaction.

Was dating my wife for all of 2 months and ordered 1800Flowers on Valentine's Day.

They contract out to local florists who get swamped during V-day and Mother's Day. Doesn't make sense to hire extra people for 2 days a year, not even seasonal.

Sooooo yeah, they actually delivered her flowers to her job... at 10:30PM. The security desk had dozens of late flowers sitting there. My wife (gf at the time) was like "I know the thought was there, but please never ever order with them again."

So for 15+ years I haven't used them. They lost my business forever. If you can't get it right, don't offer the service or just simply state that your local florists in the area have no further capacity and are sold out on delivery slots.

Don't ever go with 1800Flowers when it's a peak time like V day or Mother's Day. Their local florists WILL screw up delivery, and you'll have a disappointed gf/wife/mom.

A few years ago my dad died and my mom was in a tough place.

So for Mother's Day, I ordered her flowers from 1-800 flowers. Except they forgot to deliver the flowers and my mom thought I had forgotten about her.

Shame on 1-800 flowers. I will always tell of my experience and strongly encourage everyone to stay away. They were once a good company 15 years ago but now are run with razor thin margins and can't even get flowers delivered when promised.
