'NUTS' and 'Spire Blast' Arrive on Apple Arcade

NUTS is a single-player surveillance mystery game set in a remote forest, where players are tasked with discovering what a group of squirrels are hiding. So many Apple Arcade games (like NUTS) look like they were made to please the game developers, not a big audience. They have an "indie", offbeat vibe to them, and let the game developers be "creative" but the games don't seem to appeal to the mass market.

Has Apple had a single hit game that drives people to the Arcade platform? I can't think of one. Maybe management should focus on that for a while...

Apple TV feels similar, btw....

They both require macOS 11. Interesting that that has become a requirement so quickly.

I signed up for the extended free period & I haven’t touched it once. Can’t be bothered connecting a controller to my Apple TV to try any of the new games & gaming on my phone is a non-starter for me - it’s annoying to play on a touchscreen and not fun.

I hate how the App Store is filled with crappy micro transaction non-games. I don’t understand why customers made it popular to download a free game & spend a lot of money on crap, yet refuse to spend that same money on an actual game on the App Store to download to begin with - it’s mind boggling. It’s made the console online stores fill with crap too.

I do have a Nintendo Switch & PS5, so I’ll just play proper games on those. Thank god Nintendo has pulled out of making mobile games.
Apple made a service for people like you who hate what mobile gaming has become. It’s not their fault that you won’t try it.

Is it me or do many of the Apple Arcade games tend to have poor reviews? Most I come across seem to be in the 3s.
