Today Marks the Ninth Anniversary of Steve Jobs' Death

Nine years ago today, Steve Jobs passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 56, one day after Apple executives introduced the iPhone 4s at a media event on the company's Infinite Loop headquarters campus.

In the days following his passing, Apple started posting comments from fans on its "Remembering Steve" webpage. Apple continues to maintain the page highlighting a few of the over one million submissions from people around the world who "shared their memories, thoughts, and feelings about Steve."

The company marked the first anniversary of his passing with a photo and audio slideshow on its website, and on this day Tim Cook traditionally shares words of remembrance with Apple staff and on social media.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.”

— Steve Jobs 

Love this quote. RIP Steve.

Apple will always be amazing, but it will never again have that special "Je ne sais quoi" of the Steve Jobs era. You could feel the love he had for the products. His keynotes were passionate and personal. He was even brave enough to show his frustrations live on stage! It was a rarity to see someone so candid and genuinely unconcerned about what people thought of them. I feel lucky to have grown up with Apple by Steve Jobs. The younger generation will only know the Cook era, and that is not representative of what Apple truly was. A company that perfectly embodied the phrase "Think Different".

And the gradual demise of Apple's creative, innovative, perfectionist brilliance. Steve Jobs WAS Apple. He was a creative genius, a true visionary, and Apple's alleged deep bench hasn't come even close to replacing his ideas and obsession with great design. They created an empire out of superficially riding on Steve's coattails for almost a decade now.

Truly one of the great visionaries of our time. Watching a Jobs keynote was magic. Time for me to reread Steve Jobs by Isaacson.

After hearing about how Steve saved Forstall's life through acupuncture, kinda makes you wonder if it reinforced Steve's belief in alternative medicine which ultimately killed him.
He had pancreatic cancer. His chance of beating it was around 5%. Might as well try some alternative medicine....
