Following the announcement of a partnership with Leica for charity earlier this week, Apple's senior vice president of design Jony Ive and industrial designer Marc Newson have created the (RED) Desk, an aluminum table that will be auctioned off to benefit Product (RED), reports The Verge.

Superstar designers on a mission: Created to help fight AIDS in Africa, (RED) Desk by Jony Ive & Marc Newson is a signed one-of-a-kind, machined from solid aluminum, with an intricate cellular surface pattern, fabricated by renowned aluminum specialists Neal Feay Studio.

The table, along with the one-of-a-kind Leica M Rangefinder and a pair of solid gold EarPods, which were both designed by Ive, will be auctioned via Sotheby's on November 23. Proceeds will go to Product (RED), a longtime Apple partner. Apple has raised more than $65 million for the charity since 2006.

I already posted on appleinsider...as much I love Apple, this time Ive and Newson they just copied a desk and made in aluminum.

The desk is called Shift designed from Norman Foster for Tecno in 2011.
