MacOS Rumors references this Macworld UK article as proof that DVD and Firewire will come to the iBook.
"Frager hinted that FireWire and DVD would eventually make it onto Apple's best-selling consumer portable."
Certainly, they will eventually move to the iBook line - it's a question of when. A big factor will be the cost and the need to keep the Powerbooks different enough.
