iTunes 4.8 Released (w/ Video Playback)

Apple has released iTunes 4.8 for download

iTunes 4.8 includes new Music Store features and support for transferring contacts and calendars from your computer to your iPod.

The syncing features appear to require Mac OS X 10.4 and was previously handed by iSync.

Download available at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and appears to be available for Windows 2000 or XP and Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later.

Update: Several readers note that the latest version of iTunes supports video playback -- which is a new feature in iTunes. Obviously, users are speculating about long-running thoughts of a video version of the iTunes Music Store and Video capable iPods.

Meanwhile, more evidence that Apple will be launching more international iTunes stores. Apple is reportedly holding a press conference in Zurich tomorrow. One Swedish paper confirms iTMS Sweden should open tomorrow.

Apple already lists Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland in countries in which the iTunes Music Store is available (fine print):

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Australia remains notably absent.
