GarageBand (screenshots) is due with the rest of the iLife '04 suit which was announced to arrive on January 16, 2004. Here is a compilation of interesting tips and hints based on the GarageBand Help Files:
Tracks
- Real Instrument tracks, which contain Real Instrument regions created when you record a Real Instrument, or when you add a Real Instrument loop. Real Instrument regions are audio recordings.
- Software Instrument tracks, which contain Software Instrument regions created when you record a Software Instrument, or when you add a Software Instrument loop. Software Instrument regions are "rendered" by your computer in real-time. (This appears to be MIDI)
Loops
- There are two types of Apple Loops: Real Instrument loops and Software Instrument loops. Real Instrument loops can be added to Real Instrument tracks, and can be edited like other Real Instrument regions in the track editor. Software Instrument loops can be added to Software Instrument tracks, and can be edited like other Software Instrument regions in the track editor, including editing individual notes.
