If you haven't seen slashdot's blurb, there's a rumor on LowEndMac that by January 2001, we'll have G5's instead of G4's. This would use IBM's not-AltiVec solution...
"the G5 will include a 1 MB cache running at full CPU speed, which will range from 700 MHz to 1 GHz upon the chip's release" Sounds good, if it's true. "
