Review: Casetify's $70 Apple Watch Bands Can Be Customized With Any Design

Casetify, a company that makes customizable iPhone, iPad, and MacBook cases, has also begun selling Apple Watch bands, which can be printed with any design. Available for both the 38 and 42mm Apple Watches and in two finishes, bands can be customized with photographs or artwork or ordered from Casetify's pre-designed artist collection. Fit Casetify's Apple Watch bands are made from polycarbonate and are closest in nature to the Apple Watch Sport bands. I've been wearing a 38mm Casetify Apple Watch band for just over a week and while it is comfortable, the material of the band is not as soft, flexible, or as thin as the fluoroelastomer the Apple Watch Sport bands are constructed from. Bands come in two sizes, one for each watch. The 38mm band fits wrists sized 140 to 200mm, while the 42mm band fits wrists sized 150 to 210mm. The underside of each band is ridged, with the Casetify logo printed on each side. At about an eighth of an inch thick, Casetify's bands seem to be approximately a third thicker than the Apple Watch Sport (there's maybe about a millimeter of difference between the two). That's not a huge thickness disparity, but it is noticeable when wearing the Casetify band after wearing a Sport band, especially on a small wrist.

MacRumors Giveaway: Win an iPhone XS Max and Case Bundle From Casetify

To celebrate the launch of Apple's new 2018 iPhones, we're hosting a few special giveaways this week, and we've saved the best for last. We've teamed up with Casetify to offer MacRumors readers a chance to win a brand new 64GB Space Gray iPhone XS Max along with a Casetify Impact iPhone case bundle. Apple's 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max is its newest, biggest flagship device, and Casetify has an attractive, slim case ready to go for the new device and its sibling, the 5.8-inch iPhone XS. Casetify's Impact Cases for iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are some of the slimmest cases available that also offer Military Grade drop protection. They measure in at 2.8mm thick, but offer protection from drops of up to 6.6 feet. Priced at $49, the Impact Case features a dual-layer construction with a "Qitech" shockproof material that offers both impact resistance and shock absorption for protection from drops. iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are made from glass to allow for wireless charging, so a case like the Impact is essential. If you're not familiar with Casetify, you should know that all of Casetify's cases are ultra customizable. You can choose from millions of artist designs or upload your own designs. The Impact Case features a high gloss finish that can be customized with any design and there's a raised bezel to protect the screen when it's face down. A flash absorbent camera ring is located at the back and the Qitech material at the sides adds style and protection. All Casetify cases work with wireless charging. MacRumors Giveaway: Win a Leather Case for iPhone X, 8 or 8 Plus From Casetify

For this week's giveaway, we've teamed up with Casetify to offer MacRumors readers a chance to win a high-quality Leather Case for the iPhone X, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus. Casetify is well-known for its range of fun customizable cases for iOS devices, but the company also makes several simple, stylish, cases with a more traditional design, like the Leather Case. The Leather Case is made for the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus, and it comes in two variations: the standard Leather Snap Case for $49 and a Leather Card Case, able to hold a few credit cards, for $59. Available in Black, Sand, or Cherry, Casetify says its Leather Case is made by hand from a fine Italian leather sourced from top quality tanneries with careful stitching and attention to detail. The case is slim in design and does not add a lot of bulk to Apple's flagship iPhone lineup. The Leather Case covers the side buttons of the iPhone, while leaving the mute switch open. There's also a cutout for the camera on the back, and the Lightning port at the bottom is left open and accessible. A small lip at the front of the case keeps the display of the iPhone safe when it's placed facedown, and the leather material the case is made from adds grip. Casetify's Leather Snap Case features a smooth back, while the Leather Card Case can accommodate a few credit cards, a driver's license, or a bit of cash, and there's an option to have the cases monogrammed with your initials in multiple colors. All of Casetify's cases are compatible with wireless charging, so these cases will work with

Individual cases cost $40 each for both 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch handset sizes. The cases are made in a soft polycarbonate (TPU) Classic Grip, which safeguards the phone from any accidental drops. MacRumors Giveaway: Win a Customizable iPhone 7 or 7 Plus Case From Casetify

For this week's giveaway, we've teamed up with Casetify to offer MacRumors readers a chance to win a customizable iPhone 7 or 7 Plus case from Casetify, a site that offers a range of customizable and community-designed cases. Made from a soft polycarbonate, Casetify's cases are available in clear or black to match all of the different iPhone finishes Apple offers. The cases are matte and feature a soft-touch frame for added grip, while also protecting the iPhone from drops, bumps, and scratches. Casetify says its cases can survive drops of up to four feet onto concrete from all angles thanks to a 2-layer system with a hard exterior shell and an impact-absorbing interior layer. A lip around the case protects the display when it's face down, and all ports remain accessible for use when the case is on. Volume and power buttons are also protected. The best part about Casetify's cases is the wide range of designs available. You can choose from an artist-created case, with hundreds of choices available ranging from florals to abstract designs to cartoon characters, or create your own. With the clear cases, many designs leave the design of the iPhone visible while overlaying it with a see-through pattern, and on the black cases, designed for the new Jet Black iPhone, rich, colorful patterns are overlaid on a black background. If you don't find a pre-designed case you like, Casetify also offers the option of designing your own case with any image or photograph you've captured. You can choose a clear or black case and then use a variety of layouts and templates
