ChatGPT is Down for Images and Files
If you receive an error when attempting to generate images or upload files on ChatGPT today, you are not alone, as OpenAI has confirmed there is an ongoing outage.
"We're investigating elevated errors affecting image generation in ChatGPT and the Images API," said OpenAI, on its status page. "Some requests may fail."
"Some file uploads are failing to process," the status page further explains. "Successful uploads may take longer than usual to become available."
In the meantime, ChatGPT will say "I was unable to generate the image because the image tool encountered an error" or similar in response to affected prompts.
OpenAI said it is investigating the issues.
