No it is not a weird thing to lie about. It’s called trolling. It is way too easy to lie on the Internet. The Max is not junk, it is high quality.

Do they still have the charging issues? Quinn from Snazzy Labs said the other day that he was on his fourth replacement pair in under a year, all for the same issue. Lots of relies to his tweet made it sound like this is a fairly common issue.
Replaced 4 times for a charging issue sounds like total BS. I have the Max for almost a year and so far 0 issues.

I think I’ll wait til $350 or $300. Prices keep dropping.

I think $500 is a very reasonable price. I think $19 is a very reasonable price for a cleaning cloth. I think $999 is very reasonable for a display stand. I think Apple doesn't charge enough for their exquisite products.
