iChat AV 2.1 adds Windows Video Conferencing Support

Apple released iChat AV 2.1 today.

iChat AV v2.1 Public Beta adds support for video conferencing with the AOL Instant Messenger 5.5 for Microsoft Windows

MacOSXRumors had previously reported on this upcoming functionality. While additional sources had recently claimed that such interoperability was imminent, this information had been met with skepticism.

MacCentral adds that Windows AIM users should also be able to use the iSight though users "would also need an external microphone or another source of audio if they were using the iSight on a Windows PC, unlike their Mac counterparts."
