Over 500,000 iPads Sold, Apple Delays International Delivery until May

Apple announced this morning that due to strong sales of the Apple iPad, they have delayed international delivery for about a month.
Although we have delivered more than 500,000 iPads during its first week, demand is far higher than we predicted and will likely continue to exceed our supply over the next several weeks as more people see and touch an iPad. We have also taken a large number of pre-orders for iPad 3G models for delivery by the end of April.
Apple reports that the high demand is responsible for the delay in international shipments. International delivery will take place at the end of May. Details and pre-orders will be announced on May 10th.Top Rated Comments
(View all)Shame for those of us overseas who wanted one but I'm sure we can wait.
Personally the iPad doesn´t interest me one bit, but as it seems a lot of people would like to get their hands on it, so yeah. Enjoy! :)
Ouch. There are going to be some unhappy non-Americans.
And Americans....where is my 3G iPad! :)
this is just bad for business, people abroad are paying steep prices because of this black market stage… with all that cash apple has they should have done a worldwide release, that would have been awesome!
Excess cash doesn't mean you can ramp up production when suppliers have components in short supply.
Great news for the popularity of the new product, bad news for those who have to wait.
This must be eating away at Adobe like nothing else.
