G4 iBooks Released

Apple announced PowerPC G4 based iBooks starting at $1099 today.


800MHz, G4 iBook, 12.1", 256MB DDR SDRAM, 30GB HD, 2 USB 2.0, FW400, Combo Drive. $1099. ATI Mobility Radeon 9200.

933MHz, G4 iBook, 14.1", 256MB DDR SDRAM, 40GB HD, 2 USB 2.0, FW400, Combo Drive. $1299. ATI Mobility Radeon 9200.

1.0GHz, G4 iBook, 14.1", 256MB DDR SDRAM, 60GB HD, 2 USB 2.0, FW400, Combo Drive. $1499. ATI Mobility Radeon 9200.

Additional Build to Order options include up to 640MB DDR SDRAM, a 40 or 60GB HD, internal Bluetooth, and Airport Extreme. The new iBooks now sport slot-loading drives. More information available at Apple's site.

Recent rumors have pegged the iBook for an update, but claims of a "completely new form-factor" appear to have been incorrect.
