MacOS X for Intel?

There are rumblings about Mac OS X for Intel again. What fed the fire this time was a post from the lead Darwin engineer that Darwin 1.0 was a compiled for both PowerPC and Intel for the first time. Darwin is/will be the core OS of Mac OS X.

The Register picked up on this and and their article speculates that Apple may release a full Mac OS X for Intel. (note: Darwin is only the core OS). The appeal, they claim, may be a full-gui'd unix os as an alterative to Linux.

Our personal thoughts here at Macrumors.com are that Apple will not release an Intel version of Mac OS X - and definately not at the beginning.
