iPhone Duo Is Apple's Tiniest Laptop
Fold an iPhone Duo halfway and set it down on a desk, and let the netbook cosplay begin. The top half becomes your screen, while the bottom half turns into a control deck.
When you're watching video, for example, playback controls appear on the lower half, and a keyboard pops up there when a text editor is open. Hold it partly folded in your hands and you get a split keyboard instead, so your thumbs aren't stretching across the inner display's 7.6 inches.
Third-party apps are learning the trick, too. Netflix already has a dedicated half-fold mode, while iOS nudges content away from the crease so content doesn't get bent in the fold.
To be clear, it's not a Mac, and there's no secret Duo desktop mode hidden away in iOS 27. But when your phone has a screen that can be dedicated to a keyboard, the description "tiniest laptop" doesn't sound so far-fetched.
