Apple Is Launching 3 New iPhones Next Spring

Apple plans to launch three new iPhone models in the spring of 2027, based on multiple reports.

Apple iPhone 16 family lineup
For Apple to release three new smartphones so early in the year is unusual, but it partly has to do with the company's reported new split-launch strategy: fall launches will focus on Apple's most high-end smartphone models, with spring launches offering different and lower-priced options.

That means the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be unveiled alongside Apple's rumored first foldable iPhone this September. In the spring they will be followed by:

  • iPhone 18 (regular model)
  • iPhone 18e (more affordable)
  • iPhone Air 2 (thinner option)

The staggered launch approach is expected to help Apple manage manufacturing resources more efficiently as its lineup grows to six devices instead of five, while helping maintain sales momentum throughout the year.

It will be the first deliberate separation of Apple's flagship iPhone releases since the company established its annual fall launch pattern with the iPhone 4S in 2011.
