Apple's upcoming iPhone operating system, iOS 27, promises to bring a host of new features and improvements to iPhones new and old. It's Apple's biggest software update of the year, and the company is expected to preview it at WWDC on Monday, June 8 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time/1:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Keep reading to learn if Apple's upcoming mobile operating system will run on your particular iPhone model.

Apple hasn't officially declared which iPhone models will support iOS 27, which is expected to feature an all-new chatbot-style Siri with a dedicated app, but an oft-accurate Chinese leaker claims to know the official compatibility list.
According to Weibo-based leaker Instant Digital, the new version of Apple Intelligence that will power Siri requires an iPhone 12 series or newer device. This suggests the following iPhone models are too old to receive the update, when it officially arrives in mid-September:
- iPhone 11
- iPhone 11 Pro
- iPhone 11 Pro Max
- iPhone SE (2nd generation)
This doesn't mean your iPhone will be completely left out in the cold – it will still receive security and other updates for iOS 26 for a few years yet.
That leaves the following models which the leaker suggests iOS 27 will be compatible with:
- iPhone 17e
- iPhone 17
- iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max
- iPhone Air
- iPhone 16e
- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 15
- iPhone 15 Plus
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 14
- iPhone 14 Plus
- iPhone 14 Pro
- iPhone 14 Pro Max
- iPhone 13
- iPhone 13 mini
- iPhone 13 Pro
- iPhone 13 Pro Max
- iPhone 12
- iPhone 12 mini
- iPhone 12 Pro
- iPhone 12 Pro Max
- iPhone SE (3rd generation)
Apple is just days away from unveiling iOS 27 at its WWDC 2026 keynote on June 8, with the first developer beta expected to arrive shortly after the presentation concludes. A public beta will likely follow in July before the software rolls out to all compatible iPhones around mid-September.
While iOS 27 isn't expected to be packed with sweeping interface changes, it could end up being one of Apple's most important releases in years. Apple Intelligence features originally announced in June 2024 are expected to finally make the cut, with an enhanced Siri reportedly a major part of the software update.
Apple is also expected to introduce broader Apple Intelligence upgrades that could bring smarter capabilities to apps across the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. If the reports are accurate, iOS 27 will be all about making the experience faster, smoother, and more dependable, while laying the groundwork for Apple's next generation of AI features.
