Apple's Dynamic Island Is Spreading to Five Devices in 2026
By the end of this year, at least five Apple devices are expected to ship with new versions of Dynamic Island – Apple's pill-shaped display cutout – and two of them aren't even iPhones.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are both rumored to feature a smaller Dynamic Island when they launch in the fall, with Apple reportedly moving the Face ID dot illuminator under the display and using new camera miniaturization technology to shrink the cutout.
And let's not forget the much-anticipated foldable iPhone that is expected to debut alongside them. According to Chinese leaker Instant Digital, the front-facing cameras on the book-style foldable feature a single punch-hole design, resulting in a smaller Dynamic Island.
But Apple isn't stopping at the iPhone. The upcoming OLED MacBook Pro models – coming in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes – are expected to ditch the notch in favor of a Dynamic Island of their own, according to Bloomberg. Just like on the iPhone, the Mac version will be interactive, expanding contextually based on the app or feature in use.
That's five devices getting a new Dynamic Island in the same calendar year, which is quite an expansion for a feature that started life on a single iPhone model just four years ago.
The OLED MacBook Pro models are expected to arrive toward the end of 2026 with M6 Pro and M6 Max chips, while the iPhone 18 Pro lineup should drop in its usual September time frame.
